For some microSD cards, the default file system on may be formatted in FAT32 format by default, which has a file size limit of 4GB . This means that without reformatting your card before first use, many of your videos or larger files may exceed that limit due to their higher resolution.
To ensure all of your videos and other contents can be properly backed up, your Qubii app will automatically detect the file system of your memory card and and help you to reformat it to enable larger file sizes (exFAT). This means that in some cases yes, the microSD card will need to be reformatted.
Before doing this, please be sure to save all important data prior to reformatting your SD card and inserting it in your Qubii.
