Switching to a new phone? Here's how Qubii handles backups and what to expect when you reconnect your device.
Scenario 1: Your New Phone Has the Same Data as Your Old Phone
If you've transferred all your data from your old phone to your new phone (using tools like iCloud, Quick Start, or other migration methods), Qubii will continue backing up only new content once connected—no duplicates.
⚠️ Note: Some system transfer methods might reset or alter app data. If this happens, Qubii may ask you to either create a new folder or select an existing one.
What to do:
- When prompted, select the original backup folder used on your old phone.
- Qubii will scan and compare your files.
- Backup will resume only for newly added items that haven’t been saved yet.
Scenario 2: Your New Phone Has Different Data
If your new phone has different content (for example, it's a fresh start or you’ve restored only selected items), Qubii will detect this difference.
When connected, the app will prompt you to:
- Create a new folder, or
- Select an existing one.
If you choose to create a new folder, Qubii will treat the device as a new backup source and start backing up all content from the beginning.
