If you are receiving a "-5" error message on your Qubii app (iPhone), this means that there is an issue with your iPhone's firmware IPSW. This error happens occasionally with any backup device. In order to clear this error, please follow the instructions below to update the IPSW:
Step 1. Backup your iPhone through iTunes
Connect your iPhone to iTunes and perform a backup of your data before resetting your iPhone to factory settings. For more information, please see the Apple support article below:
Step 2. Restore the iPhone to factory settings
After you have ensured that your data is backed up to iTunes, follow the instructions in the Apple support article below to restore your iPhone to factory settings:
Step 3. Use the backup to restore your iPhone
After you have successfully restored your iPhone to factory settings, use your backup data to restore your iPhone. For more assistance on this, please use the Apple support article below:
Once you’ve updated the IPSW, you should be able to use Qubii to backup your phone.
⚠️ Please note: Updating the IPSW will set your iPhone to the default setting. Be sure to backup your iPhone data to your computer before formatting.
