This "file open error message" is related to the files issue within the microSD card. We suggest three solutions to help resolve this issue:
Solution (1): Find the error files within your camera roll and delete them.
Solution (2): Reformat the microSD card and restart the backup process again.
Solution (3): Use a different microSD card and start the backup again.
- Open the Qubii app > settings > backup details > find the latest backup date
- Then go to your iPhone camera roll > find the latest backup date > delete 5 photos
- After you done the steps above > start the backup again.
There are certain files that lead to errors, hence the error messages. Deleting these will resolve the problem and the error messages will no longer appear. If this solution doesn't work, please try solution (2).
STEP 1: Reformat your microSD card.
STEP 2: Delete all back up records to reset it.
STEP 3: Restart your iPhone and try backing up again from the beginning.
Reformatting the microSD card will verify that there is no data on the card that could have caused the error.
How do I reformat a microSD card?
Connect the Qubii flash drive to a PC.
Right click on the Qubii folder once it appears on the screen.
Choose exfat. The reformatting process will begin automatically.
Plug Qubii into your Mac.
Click on the Disk Utility icon. (Launchpad > Disk Utility. If unsure, you can ask Siri: "Open Disk Utility)."
Once inside Disk Utility, locate the drive name "Maktar Qubii" from the list on the left hand side and click on it.
Click on the“Erase” button found under the headings on the top of the program's screen.
MAKTAR REMINDER: Please remember that reformatting the microSD card will permanently delete all the data on the card. If there is previously stored data on the microSD card you are reformatting, please back up your data to a computer before erasing the files.
After reformatting the microSD card, you also need to clean up the backup records in the Qubii app in order to start backing up from beginning.

Go under Qubii settings > Backup information > Reset backup records
